Bivak ob Počitniškem Domu v Možnici sits at 793m in the Možnica Valley, a side valley in the Julian Alps. Reach it from the village of Možnica by hiking up the marked path along the Možnica River. The walk takes roughly 1.5 hours and follows easy terrain through beech forest. This is a low-elevation base for exploring the northern Julian Alps, particularly for accessing routes toward Ojstrica and the surrounding ridges. The hut works as a staging point for longer mountaineering objectives in the range.
The bivouac is a simple structure—essentially a mountain shelter with basic covered accommodation and no staffing. It provides roof and walls but not meals, running water, or electricity. Capacity is small, perhaps 8–10 people. You must bring your own food, water, and a sleeping bag. The hut is open year-round, though winter access depends on snow conditions. This is self-service accommodation suited to experienced hikers and mountaineers who understand backcountry self-sufficiency.
