Lodge na Slajki

Dom na Slajki stands at 789m in the lower Julian Alps, serving hikers on trails through the Tolmin area. The hut sits above the Tolminc River gorge, accessible by a 2-hour walk from Tolmin town center or 1.5 hours from the hamlet of Čadrg. Most hikers approach from the marked trail that winds through beech forest and limestone terrain, gaining steady elevation without technical difficulty.

The lodge offers 30 beds across simple rooms and a small dormitory. The kitchen serves traditional Slovenian meals—expect hearty soups, grilled meats, and local cheeses. Water comes from a spring. The hut operates year-round but is quietest October through April. No electricity powers the building; lighting runs on gas. The PZS maintains the hut and marks the approach trails clearly.

Book directly by phone or visit in person. Summer weekends (June–August) fill quickly, especially if a local event draws crowds to the gorge trails. Arrive on weekdays or shoulder season (May, September) for easier access. The hut keeper lives on-site and handles walk-ins, though calling ahead ensures a meal is prepared.
