Planinska Hut Mrzl'k

Planinska Koča Mrzl'k sits at 955m in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, serving as a base for day hikes and traverses across the range's gentler terrain. The hut lies above the village of Mrzl'k in the Logarska Dolina valley, roughly 90 minutes on foot from the valley floor. Most hikers approach via marked trails from Logarska Dolina, making this a solid mid-range option for accessing the Savinja River drainage and peaks like Okrešelj. The elevation keeps it accessible even in shoulder seasons when higher huts remain snowed in.
The hut is staffed year-round and offers beds, simple meals, and hot drinks. Capacity runs to around 30 people. The PZS (Planinska zveza Slovenije) maintains the hut and enforces standard Alpine hut protocols: book ahead for weekends and holidays, bring your own sleeping bag, and respect quiet hours. The kitchen prepares traditional Slovenian mountain food. Water comes from a reliable spring nearby. This is genuinely a working local hut, not a tourist destination—expect straightforward comfort and no frills.
