Lodge Valentina Staniča pod Triglavom

Dom Valentina Staniča pod Triglavom sits at 2,332m on the northern approach to Triglav, Slovenia's highest peak at 2,864m. The hut lies in the Julian Alps below Triglav's north face. Most hikers reach it in 4–5 hours from Kranjska Gora via the Prag saddle route, or in 3–4 hours from the Vrata valley trailhead. The approach is steep and exposed in places; snow and ice persist into May.

The lodge holds 101 beds across several rooms and operates year-round, though winter access depends on snow conditions. Meals are available daily—expect hearty Slovenian fare suited to high-altitude hiking. The hut has a common room, toilets, and showers. Water comes from a spring; generators power lighting and heating. This is a working mountain hut, not a hotel. Staff are used to climbers preparing for Triglav's north face and to trekkers on the Triglav lakes circuit.
