Kovinarska Hut

Kovinarska Hut sits at 870m in the Koroška Bela area of the Julian Alps, on the edge of the Pohorje massif. The hut is accessible as a day walk from several trailheads in the foothills, making it a good entry point for hikers new to the region or looking for a shorter outing. Most approaches take 2–3 hours from valley-level parking. The hut works well as a base for day hikes into the surrounding beech and spruce forest, or as an overnight stop on longer traverse routes through the lower Julian Alps.
The hut has 23 beds spread across multiple rooms. It operates as a staffed refuge with cooked meals available—book dinner when you reserve your stay. The building has basic but adequate facilities including a common room with a stove, and water from a nearby spring.
