Mojčin Lodge na Vitrancu

Mojčin Dom na Vitrancu sits at 1555m on Vitranca, a key waypoint in the Julian Alps between Kranjska Gora and the Logar Valley. The hut anchors several popular routes: 3 hours from Kranjska Gora via the ridge trail, 2.5 hours from Pod Bled, or 4 hours from Planina Razor in the south. Most approach it as a stage hut on longer ridge walks, particularly the Kranjska Gora to Kamnik traverse.
The hut is a working mountain refuge run by PZS members. It operates year-round with 30–40 bed spaces in shared rooms. Meals are prepared daily—expect hearty Slovenian mountain fare, soups, and meat dishes. Water comes from a spring. There are no showers. The building sits exposed to weather: it's cold in winter and windswept in shoulder seasons, which you should factor into your plans. Summer hikers will find it basic but adequate for a night between ridges.
Book direct by email or phone at least 2–3 weeks ahead for July and August. Outside peak season, you can often arrive without advance notice, though calling ahead is wise. The hut accommodates large groups; let them know your party size when you contact them. Bring cash—card payments may not be reliable.
