Mihov Lodge na Vršiču

Mihov Dom sits at 1,085m on Vršič Pass in the Julian Alps, the lowest and most accessible of the pass crossings between the Kranjska Gora and Trenta valleys. The hut lies directly on the main hiking route between these two regions, making it a natural stop rather than a destination in itself. Reach it in 2 hours from Kranjska Gora heading southeast toward the pass, or 3 hours from Trenta. The location also works as a base for day walks into surrounding ridges and valleys.

The hut has 22 beds split between smaller rooms. PZS manages it through PD Kranjska Gora (the local mountaineering club). Meals and refreshments are available, though it operates as a simple mountain refuge rather than a full-service lodge. The hut sits on the boundary between the Julian Alps and is busiest during the summer hiking season. Opening dates vary by year, so confirm before visiting.

Book direct through PD Kranjska Gora. The hut fills quickly in July and August on weekends, particularly during school holidays. Reserve at least 4 weeks ahead for summer weekends. Contact through the PZS website or call ahead to check current opening dates and availability. It's a working mountain hut, not a resort—expect basic comfort and focus on function.
