Planinski Lodge na Slivnici

Planinski Dom na Slivnici sits at 1,075m on Slivnica in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. The hut is accessible from the village of Slivnica pri Kamniku—a 2-hour walk gaining 500m through forest. Most hikers approach from Kamnik town, which lies 20km south and is reachable by bus from Ljubljana. The route is well-marked and suitable for steady walkers. Slivnica itself is a rounded summit that anchors the western end of the range, making the hut a logical base for day walks across the Kamnik foothills or as a waypoint on longer traverses.
The lodge sleeps around 40 people in mixed dormitories. The PZS-affiliated hut serves hearty Slovenian meals at lunch and dinner, with basic packed lunches available for early starts. Water comes from a spring; there is no WiFi. The hut runs year-round but sees fewer visitors in winter—check conditions before December. The atmosphere is straightforward: you'll find other hikers planning routes, not tourists seeking luxury.
