Rifugio Alpino Guglielmo Pelizzo

Rifugio Alpino Guglielmo Pelizzo sits at 1,325m in the Julian Alps, reached from the village of Bovec in northwestern Slovenia. The hut serves as a base for approaches to Matajur and routes into the Predil Pass area. Most hikers arrive via the marked trail from Bovec, a 2.5 to 3 hour walk gaining roughly 400m. The rifugio operates as a traditional mountain hut with simple accommodation and a small restaurant. It sleeps around 20 people in mixed dormitory rooms. The hut is staffed year-round, though winter visits require advance notice. Summer is the busy season (June to September), when day-trippers and through-hikers pass regularly.
