Hut na Prevalu

Koča na Prevalu sits at 1,311m in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, accessible from the Lukovica valley. The hut makes a logical base for hiking routes across the central passes of this range. Approach from Lukovica village takes 2–2.5 hours on marked trails through beech forest. The location works well as a staging point for day walks to higher peaks or as an overnight stop on longer ridge traverses.
The hut offers basic mountain hospitality with around 40 beds in shared rooms. The PZS-affiliated facility serves warm meals and drinks, with a simple but functional setup typical of Slovenian mountain refuges. Water comes from a nearby spring. The hut operates year-round, though winter visits require checking conditions and staffing ahead. Facilities are minimal—heating, basic toilets, no shower.
