Planina Ravne

Planina Ravne sits at 1090m on a pastoral plateau in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. The hut is reached from Luče via a 4-hour walk through beech forest, or from Logarska dolina valley via a 2.5-hour approach. Both routes are well-marked and grade 1-2 mountain paths. The location sits above the Savinja river valley on the north side of the range, making it a natural stop for transalpine routes crossing from the central Julian Alps toward the Savinja hills.
The hut offers simple accommodation in dormitories and a few private rooms. The kitchen provides hot meals and basic supplies; bring extra food if you plan longer stays. Capacity is around 40 people. The plateau around the hut supports grazing pasture and offers open views across the valley. Planina Ravne operates year-round but is most reliably staffed May through October. Winter visits require advance notice to the caretaker.

July and August weekends fill quickly; reserve 3-4 weeks ahead for summer visits. The hut works well as a base for day walks into the Kamnik-Savinja range or as an overnight stop on longer itineraries crossing the range.
