Planinski dom Kumer is a mountain house at 1,217 m in Koprivna, the high valley between Peca and Olševa above Črna na Koroškem in Slovenian Carinthia. It stands beside the Kumer farm, which PZS says was built in 1535, and is run by Planinski klub Peca-Olševa, the club the Kumer family founded in 1995. The Slovenian Alpine Association (PZS) lists it among the Karavanke huts.

PZS lists it as open all year. There are 14 beds in rooms (no dormitory), a dining room with 40 seats and showers; food is valley standard. Book by phone (+386 2 82 38 310, mobile +386 40 237 021) or email ([email protected]).

You can drive to the door: 14 km from Črna na Koroškem up the Koprivna valley, or 23 km from Solčava over the panoramic road via Spodnje Sleme. From Bad Eisenkappel/Železna Kapla in Austria, drive up the Lepena valley to the car park at Alpengasthof Riepel (12 km) and walk over the Luža saddle in about 1 hour 15 minutes. On foot from the bus stop in Črna na Koroškem it is about 3 hours 15 minutes. Marked paths lead on to Peca and Olševa, and several long-distance routes pass the house, among them the Koroška planinska pot and the Slovenian mountain bike trail (STKP).

Drive up the Lepena valley to the car park at Alpengasthof Riepel (12 km), then walk over the Luža saddle to the house, about 1 hour 15 minutes (PZS).

From Črna na Koroškem through the Koprivna valley

3h Easy

On foot from the Črna na Koroškem bus station up the Koprivna valley, about 3 hours 15 minutes (PZS). By car the same valley road (14 km) ends at the car park by the house.
