Planinski Lodge na Resevni

Planinski Dom na Resevni sits at 635m on the slopes above the Resevna Valley in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. The hut is reached from the village of Resevna, about 90 minutes on foot via marked trails through beech and spruce forest. Most hikers start from the Resevna Valley road-end and gain 300m elevation steadily to the hut. The approach is straightforward but involves real climbing—not a casual stroll. This elevation puts the hut in the transition zone between lowland and Alpine terrain, making it a logical base for longer ridge walks and multi-day hut tours into the higher Kamnik-Savinja range.
The lodge accommodates around 30 people in mixed dorms and a few private rooms. Half-board is standard: hearty Slovenian mountain food and a packed lunch for your next day's walk. The hut has a small bar and basic heating. Water comes from a spring. The hut operates year-round but is most reliably staffed weekends and summer holidays. Contact PZS or the hut directly to confirm opening dates if you plan a winter or early-spring visit.
Book direct through the hut or via PZS listings. July and August fill quickly—book 4–6 weeks ahead. Shoulder seasons (May, June, September) are quieter and often better for walking. The hut keeper speaks Slovenian primarily; email or phone ahead if you speak only English.
