About

Heftihütte sits at 1,904m in the Emmental Alps, above the village of Hasliberg in the Bernese Oberland. Reach it from Hasliberg-Reuti by hiking northeast through forest and meadow for 1.5 hours. The hut is smaller and more remote than many SAC huts, making it a good base for quieter walks in this lesser-known corner of the Bernese highlands. The surrounding terrain offers moderate hiking with views across the Emmental valley.

The hut sleeps 12 people in basic dormitory accommodation. There is no self-catering kitchen, so you must take half or full board. Meals are prepared by the hut keeper and are substantial—expect traditional Swiss mountain food. The hut has water and toilets. It operates seasonally, typically from May to October, though you should confirm opening dates before planning your trip.

Book directly with SAC Emmental. Contact the hut keeper by phone or email well in advance—at least 4 weeks for weekends, especially July and August. Winter access is possible but requires checking conditions and booking separately with the managing section. The hut is run on a volunteer basis, so flexibility and respect for the keeper's schedule will be appreciated.
