Alp Muot Selvas sits at 2,587m in the Orobian Alps above the Val Brembana in Lombardy. Reach it from Piazza Brembana (900m) via the Passo della Forcella trail, a steady 4-5 hour climb through larch forest and alpine meadow. The final approach crosses open terrain with views east toward the Carnic Alps. Alternative access from Rifugio Nani (2,165m) takes 2-3 hours and connects to broader valley networks. Park in Piazza Brembana and plan your transport before arrival.

The hut operates as a simple mountain shelter with 20-30 bed capacity in dormitory rooms. Meals are basic but adequate—expect pasta, polenta, and local cheese. Hot water and composting toilets are standard. Staffing and opening vary by season; the hut operates reliably from June through September and weekends in shoulder months, but confirm before winter visits. This is a working mountain pasture with grazing animals, not a commercial facility.

Book directly with the managing group or contact the Val Brembana tourism office ahead of your trip. July and August weekends fill quickly. Bring cash—card payment may not be available. The hut works best as a stage on longer routes linking the Brembana valley to neighboring rifugios rather than a destination stay.
