Casina Bianca

Casina Bianca sits at 1407m in the Bergamasc Alps, roughly 90 minutes' walk from Roncobello in the Val Brembana. The hut is accessible year-round via a well-marked trail that gains 400m steadily through mixed woodland. Most hikers approach from Roncobello village, though the hut also serves as a base for traverses toward Rifugio Alpe Corni and routes into the Orobie range. The setting puts you on the fringe of serious alpine terrain while remaining accessible for weekend trips from Lombardy and Veneto.

Casina Bianca is a simple refuge managed by CAI Treviglio. It offers basic dormitory accommodation and meals prepared on-site. The hut caters primarily to walkers and day-hikers rather than climbers, making it a practical stop on ridge routes or as a base for exploring the surrounding ridges. Expect minimal facilities—bring a torch and don't expect phone signal. Water is sourced locally. The hut operates through most of the year, though verify opening dates with the managing section before visiting in winter.

Book directly with CAI Treviglio at least two weeks ahead, especially for weekends. The hut fills quickly during autumn hiking season (September–October) and on long-weekend periods. Payment is cash only. The refuge does not accept online booking systems, so telephone or email contact is necessary.
