Grialetschhütte

Grialetschhütte sits at 2,542m in the Graubünden Alps, accessing the Grialetch area between the Piz Beverina massif and the Albula Valley. Most parties approach from Bergün village (1,368m) via Vanadeln and Rueun lakes, a 4-hour hike gaining 1,174m. Alternative routes connect from Preda and Tiefenbach. The hut marks a key junction for multi-day traverses across central Graubünden, including routes toward Säntis and the lower Albula huts.
The SAC-managed hut holds 58 beds across multiple dormitories. Full meals are served daily during season. A self-catering kitchen is available if you prefer to cook. Drinking water comes from mountain sources. The hut operates year-round, though winter access requires good snow sense and mountaineering experience. Simple but solid facilities typical of working Alpine huts. Summer sees heaviest use from late June through August. The nearby lake crossings make this a natural rest point for north-south valley traverses.
Book ahead by email or phone, especially for weekends and July–August when capacity fills quickly. Booking 4–6 weeks ahead is standard for peak season. The hut accepts calls and online reservation requests. Confirm your arrival time if making a long approach, as meals are served at set hours.
