Malga Pozzetto

Malga Pozzetto sits at 1,400m in the Dolomites' Passo Ghedina area, east of Cortina d'Ampezzo. The approach is straightforward: from Passo Ghedina (2,236m), descend the marked trail toward Fedare valley for roughly 1.5 hours. The hut also receives hikers coming up from Cortina or via the longer routes through Falzarego Pass. It's well-positioned for day walks into the surrounding limestone peaks and as a base for multi-day traverses through the Dolomites' network of rifugios.
Malga Pozzetto is a working mountain dairy that also operates as a rifugio. It sleeps around 20 people in simple shared rooms. Meals focus on traditional Ladin and Dolomite cooking—expect hearty pasta, local cheeses, and game when in season. The hut has basic dormitory facilities and a small common area. Water comes from the valley spring. It opens June through September, closing during heavy snow and winter. Phone ahead in shoulder months (June and September) as staffing is minimal.
