Refuge Baita Iseo

Rifugio Baita Iseo sits at 1,335m in the Lombardy Alps, on the eastern shore of Lake Iseo. The hut anchors the mid-level trails around the lake, making it a natural base for day walks and multi-day routes in the region. Most hikers reach it on foot from Iseo town (45 minutes) or from the higher peaks above the lake via marked paths (2–3 hours depending on your route). Vehicle access exists but hiking in gives better context for the terrain.
The CAI-managed refuge sleeps around 30 people in mixed dorms and private rooms. Meals are available—book dinner when you reserve your bed. The kitchen serves regional Lombardy food and takes vegetarian requests. There's a bar, running water, and composting toilets. The hut opens year-round, though winter traffic is sparse and some weeks close for maintenance. Phone ahead in November and March to confirm opening dates.
Book direct via email or phone—don't rely on third-party booking sites. Summer weekends fill quickly, especially June to August; aim for 2–4 weeks ahead. Weekday slots are usually available with less notice. The hut accepts cash and bank transfer. Arrive before 18:00 for dinner service.
