Refuge Tita Secchi

Rifugio Tita Secchi sits at 2,367m in the Ticino Alps, on the border between Switzerland and Italy. Access from the Swiss side starts at Robiei, reachable by PostBus from the Verzasca valley. The hut lies on the main hiking route between Robiei and the Swiss-Italian border, about 2.5 hours on foot from Robiei. From Italy, most approach via the Val Lavizzara side. The location makes it a natural stopping point for multi-day traverses or border-crossing routes in this less-crowded alpine region.
The refuge holds 60 beds across multiple dormitories. It serves meals—order dinner when you arrive—and hot showers are available. The hut operates year-round, though snow may require winter mountaineering skills or snowshoes from December to April. Staff are used to a mix of Swiss and Italian visitors. Water comes from the mountain stream nearby. The building sits in open terrain with views down the Robiei valley.
