Seehütte

Seehütte sits at 2,595m in the Bergamasque Alps, above Lago d'Avio in the Val Seriana. From Colere village (1,260m), follow the marked trail up through forest and alpine meadow to reach the hut in 4.5 hours. The approach gains 1,335m steadily but without technical ground. You can also approach from Val Brembana in the south, though this is longer.

The hut accommodates 90 people in dormitories and serves meals from 7am to early evening. Hot water is available. The rifugio operates year-round, though winter access depends on snow conditions. It functions as a base for climbers tackling peaks like Cima del Pizzo (2,804m) and Cima di Valbondione (2,530m), and for hikers crossing the high passes linking valleys. The location works well for ring routes across the range. Meals are straightforward mountain cooking.

Book directly with the hut by phone or email for July and August weekends; midsummer can fill solid on Saturdays. June and September are quieter and give reliable weather. Winter visits need advance notice to confirm staff presence. The hut lies within CAI territory; membership cards offer no special discount, but card holders often receive a small meal reduction.
