Unterer Schafberg
3.9About
The hut operates as a modest mountain shelter with 30 beds in simple dormitory rooms and a few double chambers. Half-board only: dinner, bed, and breakfast cost around €60–75 per person. The kitchen prepares solid Tyrolean fare—expect hearty pasta, local cheeses, and cured meats. Showers are cold water only. The hut runs from June through September; winter access depends on snow conditions and should be confirmed in advance. Mobile signal is weak to nonexistent.
Book directly by phone or email. July and August weekends fill quickly; aim to reserve 3–4 weeks ahead for summer visits. Midweek slots in June and September are usually available with shorter notice. The hut sits at the edge of several hiking circuits: day trips to surrounding peaks, or longer traverses toward the Rifugio Laresei or south toward the Presanella massif.
