Bivacco Alpe Agario

Bivacco Alpe Agario sits at 1560m in the Leventina Valley, deep in Ticino's mountain terrain. The hut is a 2-3 hour hike from Rodi-Fiesso via the Alpe Agario pasture. It serves as a base for ridge traverses and peak ascents in the surrounding Ticino Alps, with direct access to routes toward Pizzo Roscelli and the Campolungo ridge. The location puts you well into serious hiking country, far from road access.
This is a small bivouac shelter with 3 beds total. Expect basic alpine conditions: no heating, no power, and no prepared meals. You bring your own food and use the stove and limited cooking equipment on-site. Water is available from a nearby source. The hut operates year-round, though winter access demands experience and proper kit. The compact size means you're sharing tight quarters with other mountaineers, not a social experience.

Confirm access and water availability before departure, especially outside summer months. July and August see the most traffic on Ticino ridge routes, though numbers remain far lower than famous Swiss huts. Come with self-sufficiency as your default mindset.
