Cabin Gorda

Capanna Gorda sits at 1,800m in the Ticino Alps, accessible from the village of Bosco Gurin. The approach takes 2.5 hours on foot from Bosco Gurin, following marked trails through mixed forest and alpine meadow. The hut works as a base for day walks in the surrounding Nara Valley and links into the longer Nara hiking network that connects several valleys in the region. Winter access is unreliable above 1,500m in this area, so plan visits between June and September.
The hut sleeps 28 guests in simple multi-bed rooms. The staff serve evening meals and breakfast, drawing on local Ticinese ingredients where possible. Drinking water comes from a spring on the property. WiFi is available, though signal strength varies.
