Refuge Bellano

Refuge Bellano sits at 1,309m in the Ticino Alps near Nufenen Pass, in the Val Formazza valley. Approach from Premia village (30 minutes walk) or from the Nufenen Pass car park (1.5 hours). Most hikers use this hut as a base for day walks into the surrounding peaks and alpine meadows, or as a night stop on multi-day routes crossing the Nufenen area.
The hut has 12 beds across simple dormitory rooms. Meals are available on request—phone ahead to confirm kitchen availability and meal times. Water and basic facilities are provided. The hut operates year-round, though winter access depends on snow conditions and road closure of the Nufenen Pass (typically December to May). Check before planning a winter visit.
