Hüfihütte

Hüfihütte sits at 2,334m in the Uri Alps, accessible from the Klausenpass road. The standard approach takes 2.5 to 3 hours from Unterschächen via the Schächen valley. You can also reach it from Spiringen in about 3.5 hours. The hut sits at the junction of several hiking routes, making it a natural waypoint for traverses across the central Alps.
The SAC-managed hut sleeps 32 guests and serves meals to residents and day visitors. You can rely on drinking water from the mountain spring. The hut operates year-round, though conditions in winter require mountain experience. Summer sees steady traffic from hikers using it as a base for exploring the surrounding ridges and peaks. The setting is practical rather than remote—you're well-positioned for onward routes without being isolated.
Book directly with the hut by email or phone. July and August fill weeks ahead, so contact them before June if you're planning a summer visit. Shoulder seasons (June and September) offer better availability. The hut can accommodate larger groups, but confirm capacity early if you're bringing a party of more than six people.
