Sustlihütte sits at 2,257m on the northeastern slopes of the Sustli, between the Gotthard and Goms valleys in Uri. Most hikers approach from Göschenen (48 minutes by train from Zurich) via the Göschenen-Engstligen route, which takes roughly 3 hours uphill. The Blausee alpine lake lies 30 minutes north. Access is straightforward year-round since the path climbs steadily but never steeply.
The SAC-managed hut holds 67 beds in mixed dormitories. Meals are served daily; the kitchen also accommodates self-catering if you prefer to cook. Drinking water is available on-site. Mobile reception is reliable, but there is no WiFi. The hut opens year-round and functions as a convenient base for day walks across the surrounding meadows and peaks, or as a waypoint on longer traverses linking the Gotthard and Goms regions. Winter access requires mountain skills.
