Cabin de Valsorey

Cabane de Valsorey sits at 3,037m in the remote Valsorey Valley, southeast of Le Châble in the Bagnes district. The standard approach is via the Mauvoisin dam and the Lac de Mauvoisin trail, which takes roughly 4 hours from Le Châble. This is a serious mountain walk gaining 1,500m elevation. Winter and early spring routes require winter mountaineering skills. The hut is the base for traversing the high alpine terrain around Mont-Blanc massif extensions and accessing hanging glaciers in the valley.
The SAC-managed hut provides 52 beds in a mix of dormitories and smaller rooms. Meals are available—book these when you reserve beds, as the guardian relies on advance notice for provisioning. Drinking water is sourced from the glacier melt and mountain springs. The hut operates year-round but staffing and food availability vary significantly outside summer; check conditions directly before winter visits. Facilities are minimal but functional—expect cold water washes and basic mountain hut conditions.

Provide your exact arrival date, bed count, and dietary needs. Spring ski touring brings crowds; summer mountaineering parties are steady June through September.
