Cabin du Mont-Noble

Cabane du Mont-Noble sits at 2,244m on the ridge between the Nendaz and Valais valleys in southwestern Switzerland. Reach it from Nendaz village (1,400m) via a marked trail that climbs through forest and alpine meadow—allow 3.5 hours for the 850m ascent. The hut also connects to longer ridge walks toward Mont-Lachaux and routes linking the Nendaz hiking network. Most hikers approach from the north; southern access from Isérables is steeper and less frequently used.

The SAC-managed hut sleeps around 50 people in dormitory rooms. Evening meals and packed lunches are available for overnight guests; drinks and snacks are sold during the day. Water comes from a reliable spring near the cabin. The hut operates year-round but becomes crowded during summer weekends and quieter in shoulder seasons. Winter access depends on snow conditions and avalanche stability—contact the hut to check conditions before travelling in cold months.

The hut's telephone number and reservation system are listed on the SAC website. Arrive early on popular weekends or book ahead to guarantee a bed. The cabin is run by SAC volunteers and relies on donations beyond standard overnight charges.
