Cabin D'Essertze

Cabane d'Essertze sits at 2,002m in the Valais, accessed from the village of Grimentz. The approach takes 2 hours from the village via a steady trail through alpine meadow and light forest. The hut lies on the classic Valais hiking circuit and works well as a base for day walks across the surrounding peaks and lakes of the Val d'Anniviers region.
The cabin sleeps 25 across mixed dormitories and has a small kitchen. Meals are available on request—book ahead if you want dinner. Water comes from a spring. There's no shower. The hut opens mid-June through September, though dates shift with snow conditions. Winter access requires mountaineering skills and prior arrangement.
