Refuge le Peuty

Refuge le Peuty sits at 2,551m in the Val d'Anniviers, a side valley east of Sierre in Valais. Most hikers reach it from Grimentz (1,572m) via the Tracuit Pass trail in 4–5 hours. The hut works as a base for traversing between Grimentz and Zinal, or for day trips to surrounding peaks and passes. The terrain demands solid mountain fitness and scrambling experience in places.
The refuge holds 22 beds in mixed dorms and private rooms. Evening meals use local ingredients; breakfast is substantial. Showers and flush toilets are available—uncommon at this altitude. The hut runs year-round but is most reliable mid-June to mid-September; winter access requires mountain skills and avalanche awareness. Mobile signal is weak and there is no WiFi, so disconnect completely.
