Chalet Alpin du Tour

Chalet Alpin du Tour sits at 1,466m in the Val de Bagne, above Le Châble in the Valais. Reach it from Le Châble cable car station: the approach takes 2 to 2.5 hours on foot. The hut marks a logical halt on longer traverses toward the Grand Combin massif or routes climbing toward Pointe de Nava. Day hikers also use it as a base for exploring the surrounding limestone terrain and wildflower meadows.
The FFCAM (Club Alpin Français) manages 87 beds across multiple rooms. Meals follow standard Alpine hut style: hearty dinners, packed lunches, and breakfast. Hot showers are available—a genuine comfort at this elevation. The hut has no WiFi. Open from June to September, it operates year-round for group bookings only during winter months. Staffing and conditions vary outside the main season, so confirm ahead.
Phone the hut directly to book bunks. July and August are busy; reserve at least 4 to 6 weeks in advance. June and September slots fill more slowly but still require 2 to 3 weeks' notice. Arrive in afternoon or early evening to settle in before dinner service. The hut charges standard rates for bed, dinner, and breakfast, paid on departure.
