Huberhütte

The Huberhütte sits at 2,033m in the Schiefer Alps above the Mölltal valley in Carinthia. Reach it from Bad Kleinkirchheim or the village of Möllbruck. The standard approach takes 3–3.5 hours from Bad Kleinkirchheim via the Nöring pass trail, gaining 1,100m steadily through forest then alpine meadow. From Möllbruck the route is shorter but steeper. The hut marks a junction point for ridge walks toward Hochrindl (2,359m) and traverses across the Schiefer Alps toward the Fölz valley.
The hut is run by the Austrian Alpine Club (OeAV) and offers 50 beds in mixed and private rooms. Half-board is standard; dinners are solid mountain fare, breakfasts substantial. The kitchen caters to vegetarian requests if notified in advance. Water comes from a spring; toilets are basic but clean. Mobile reception is patchy. The hut stays open roughly from mid-May through mid-October, closing during heavy snow. Winter access is possible on skis for those with avalanche awareness, though the hut does not operate a full winter service.

The hut prefers guests to arrive by 17:00 to join the communal dinner service. Bring cash for incidentals; card payment is available but not guaranteed.
