Terzerhaus

Terzerhaus sits at 1622m in the Lower Austrian Alps, on the edge of the Lunzer Alm plateau. The hut is reached via hiking trail from Lunz am See village—allow 2.5 to 3 hours from the trailhead. Most visitors approach from the north via the Dürrenstein massif or from the south from Göstling. The location makes it a solid overnight stop for walkers traversing the region between the Ybbstaler Alps and Türnitzer Alps.
The hut has capacity for around 50 guests in mixed dormitory rooms and a few double bedrooms. Meals are home-cooked and hearty; half-board is standard. The kitchen serves dinner and a substantial breakfast. There's no WiFi—bring a book or expect genuine quiet. The hut operates year-round, though winter conditions sometimes require enquiry before arrival. Facilities include a dining room with tile stove, basic showers, and toilets. The surrounding meadows offer scope for day walks in summer; winter brings snow-shoeing options.
