Adamekhütte

Adamekhütte sits at 2,196m in the Salzburg Alps, accessed from the Weißbach valley. The standard approach takes 2.5 hours from Wörgl, heading up through mixed forest to open alpine meadows. In summer, you can split the approach with a cable car to Weißbach, cutting hiking time to around 1.5 hours. The hut stands on a well-marked ridge with good views across the surrounding peaks.

The OeAV-managed hut has capacity for around 50 people and serves hearty meals typical of Austrian hut cooking. Showers are available, which is a rarity at this elevation and makes it worth using as a rest stop. The hut operates year-round, though expect reduced service November to March. Multiple ridge walks connect to neighboring huts and peaks—particularly strong options are the traverse toward Hochkalter or loops back via different valleys.

Book directly by phone with the hut keeper at least 6 weeks ahead for July and August. The Easter holiday period and weekends fill fast throughout summer. Midweek visits in June and September offer better availability and quieter conditions. Groups of eight or more should contact the OeAV Sektion Austria in advance to confirm arrangements.
