Wiesberghaus
3.6About
The hut offers 35 beds across simple dormitory rooms. The Naturfreunde Lenzing manages it as a working alpine hut, not a tourist refuge. Meals focus on hearty Austrian fare—expect traditional Jause (snacks) and full dinners if you've booked ahead. There's no hot shower, but washing facilities are adequate. The hut operates year-round, though winter visits require advance notice as staffing drops significantly. Views east toward the Dachstein massif are the main reward for the climb.
Book directly with the managing group. Phone calls are faster for short-notice visits; email works well for groups and advance planning. July and August fill by mid-June, so book 4-6 weeks ahead for peak season. Shoulder months (May, June, September) have easier availability. Winter overnight stays need confirmation at least two weeks in advance. The hut prefers advance notice for meals so the warden can plan provisions.
