Arnikahütte
2.5About
The Arnikahütte is run by the Austrian Alpine Club (OeAV) and holds about 40 beds in mixed dormitories and a few double rooms. The kitchen serves hearty evening meals and packed lunches on request. Water comes from the mountain spring. The hut has basic hot showers, but no luxuries—expect simple, functional accommodation. It opens from June through September, weather permitting. Winter use is possible only with self-catering (the guardian does not stay over).
Book your bed at least 4 weeks ahead for July and August; June and September are less crowded. Contact the hut directly by phone or email through the OeAV website. The hut prefers advance notice for large groups and special dietary needs. Arrive by mid-afternoon to collect your room assignment and attend the communal dinner. Drop your pack at the hut before tackling any nearby summits—the Radstädter Tauern peaks reward the extra time.
