Olympiahütte

The Olympiahütte sits at 1,552m in the Tennengebirge, above the village of Anif south of Salzburg. Reach it from Anif in 1.5 hours on well-marked trail 1, climbing steadily through beech forest. The hut is also accessible from the north via Elsbethen (2 hours) or as part of longer traverses across the Tennengebirge. It makes a logical day-hut stop for walkers heading toward Fürstenbrunn or across to the Adlgassen valley.
The hut serves snacks, hot drinks, and simple meals from late morning through early evening. It has around 30 beds in basic rooms and operates year-round, though services are limited in winter. The setting is open meadow with views across the Salzburg basin toward the high Alps. Most visitors stay 2-3 hours rather than overnight. Facilities include toilets and handwashing but no showers.
Book ahead only for large groups (6+). The hut is popular with families and locals on weekends; visit on weekdays for a quieter experience. Contact via the Austrian Alpine Club (OeAV) Salzburg section or call ahead to confirm opening hours, especially outside summer months.
