Schwaigalm

Schwaigalm sits at 1,350m in the Salzburg Alps and serves as a base for day hikes and multi-day routes through accessible alpine terrain. You reach it from the village of Dienten am Pass, a 2-hour walk on a steady forest trail with minimal elevation gain. The hut sits on the Dienten Plateau and connects well to routes toward the Hochkönig massif and surrounding peaks.

The hut operates year-round and can accommodate around 30 people in mixed and private rooms. Meals focus on traditional Austrian fare and hearty hiker portions. The kitchen produces packed lunches for day trips. Showers, basic laundry facilities, and a communal dining room with views over the plateau are standard.
