Herrgottschnitzerhütte
3.7About
The hut is managed by the Austrian Alpine Club (OeAV) and sleeps around 30 people in dormitory beds. Meals are available year-round; the kitchen serves traditional Austrian fare using local ingredients when possible. The hut has basic facilities—no shower—but maintains reliable water supply and heating. It operates continuously except for a few weeks in late autumn. Mobile reception is poor; bring maps or download offline versions.
Book directly with the hut by phone or email. July and August weekends fill quickly, so contact them 4–6 weeks ahead for summer visits. Winter visits are less crowded but confirm opening status first. Arrive early in the day if walking in from Neuberg; the final section crosses boggy ground that becomes unreliable in poor visibility.
