Hochreicharthütte

Hochreicharthütte sits at 2,340m in the Sölk Valley near Irdning in Styria. Reach it from the Sölk valley floor via the Hochreichar trail, a steady climb of roughly 3 hours. The hut is positioned as a base for day walks across the surrounding limestone plateau and access to peaks including Hochreichar itself at 2,416m. The hut operates year-round and maintains 60 beds across multiple rooms. Evening meals feature hearty Austrian fare; breakfast is available. The kitchen provides basic facilities for self-catering. There's a drying room for wet gear. Mobile reception is patchy at this elevation. The hut is staffed by the Austrian Alpine Club (OeAV) and enforces a simple booking system.
