About

The Obere Pussorhütte is a summer mountain-pasture hut (Almhütte) at about 1,508 m on the Pussoralmen, on the southern slopes of the Roßbachkogel in the Gleinalpe (Gleinalm), northwest of Graz in the Weststeiermark. It lies in the Lipizzanerheimat within the Voitsberg district. The hut is run by the local agricultural commons (Agrargemeinschaft Kainach) and staffed by an alm-keeper through the summer. This is a rustic day hut rather than a staffed alpine-club refuge: it serves cold Styrian snacks such as Speckbrettl, Kasjause and open sandwiches made with local Lipizzanerheimat produce, with outdoor seating and spring water available at the hut. It typically opens from June until the third weekend of September, Tuesday to Sunday, and is closed on Mondays. There is no road to the hut; it is reached on foot across the Gleinalm pastures, most commonly from Krautwasch via the Brendlalm — where the famous Lipizzaner mares graze in summer — or on easy ridge walks from the Gleinalm-Schutzhaus and the Oskar-Schauer-Haus. Only a handful of emergency sleeping places exist, so it is best treated as a destination for a day walk rather than an overnight stay.

Yes for fit day-walkers: the approaches are non-technical pasture and ridge paths. It is not an overnight base, however, as it has only emergency sleeping places rather than bookable beds.
Cold dishes only — regional snack plates (Speckbrettl, Kasjause, open breads) made with local produce, plus outdoor seating and well water. There is no full kitchen or reliable accommodation.
