Triebentalhütte

Triebentalhütte sits at 1,104m in the Triebental valley, a side valley off the Palten in central Styria. The hut is accessible via a 2-hour walk from the village of Trieben, following the valley floor with steady but easy gradient. Most hikers approach it as a base for day trips into the surrounding limestone peaks or as a waypoint on longer Alpine traverses through the Ennstaler Alpen.
The hut has 18 beds split between 2 private rooms and dormitory spaces, managed by OeAV's Akademische Sektion Graz. The warden serves meals daily and maintains a basic kitchen. Water comes from the valley stream. There are no showers. The hut typically opens late May through September, though you should confirm exact dates before planning your trip. It's a working mountain hut with genuine valley location, not a high-altitude refuge—expect functional rather than luxurious conditions.

Shoulder months (June and September) have more availability. The hut runs on a small budget and relies on regular guests, so a direct call usually gets you more reliable information than email.
