Burgeralm
3.7About
The Burgeralm is a working alpine dairy farm that also welcomes hikers. The hut offers simple accommodation in small rooms and a popular restaurant serving regional Tyrolean food and dairy products from the farm itself. Capacity is modest—around 30 beds—so it fills quickly on weekends and during school holidays. The kitchen produces fresh butter, cheese, and yogurt that feature on the menu. Facilities include basic dormitory-style rooms and a warm dining space. The hut operates year-round but services are reduced in winter; confirm opening times before visiting outside the main summer season (June to September).
Book directly by phone or email at least one week ahead for weekends, and earlier if visiting during Austrian school holidays in July or August. The hut fills from midday onwards on fair-weather weekends, so arrive early or book a bed. Day visitors are welcome throughout the day for meals.
