Kellerjochhütte

Kellerjochhütte sits at 2,237m on the Kellerjoch pass between the Zillertal and Ötztal valleys in the Tyrol. Reach it from the north via the Zillertal: start at Mayrhofen and hike 4 hours up the Zillergrund valley. From the south, the approach from Ötztal is steeper and less commonly used. The hut marks a key pass on longer alpine traverses connecting the two valleys. Camping is prohibited in the surrounding area, making this hut essential for multi-day trips crossing the high ridges here.
The OeAV-managed hut operates year-round and sleeps 30 guests in simple shared rooms. Half-board is standard; the kitchen serves hearty Austrian fare suited to active hikers. There is no shower facility. Water comes from natural sources. The hut has a small bar and drying room. Winter access depends on snow conditions—check conditions directly before visiting outside summer months.
