Kobingerhütte

Kobingerhütte sits at 1504m in the Zillertal, serving the network of hiking trails that fan out across the valley floor and lower slopes. The hut is accessible via a straightforward walk from Zell am Ziller—roughly 1.5 hours on foot following marked paths through the valley. You can also drive partway and shorten the approach. This location makes it useful for day hikes in the Zillertal and as a base for multi-day tours in the region. The hut works equally well as a rest point if you're moving through the valley on a longer traverse.
Kobingerhütte operates year-round and offers 34 beds in mixed dorms and smaller rooms. The kitchen serves dinner and breakfast. The hut has a common room with a stove, and basic washing facilities. Water comes from the spring. This is straightforward, functional Alpine accommodation rather than high alpine refuge—suitable for families and less experienced hikers as well as those doing serious valley work.

You'll have best availability on weekdays outside the peak months. The hut's Zillertal location and year-round opening make it flexible for different season planning. Book at least a month ahead if you're targeting July or August weekends; other times you can often arrange a stay with shorter notice.
