Oberlandhütte

Oberlandhütte sits at 1,014m in the Ötztal, a major valley running south from Ötztal Bahnhof in the Ötztal region of Tyrol. The hut is accessible by hiking from Ötztal Bahnhof in around 2 hours, following marked trails through open pasture and light forest. Car access exists via the Ötztal road, with parking near the hut. The location makes it a practical base for lower-elevation day walks in the Ötztal and access to higher routes.
The DAV Sektion Oberland operates the hut year-round. It offers straightforward accommodation with showers available. The hut serves meals and provides a simple base for hikers exploring the surrounding valley terrain. Capacity is modest, suited to small groups and individual hikers rather than large parties. Opening hours vary seasonally, so confirm in advance if planning a winter visit.

The Ötztal draws steady foot traffic, particularly July through September, though the low elevation and valley location mean the hut rarely reaches capacity compared to high-altitude Alpine huts. Book 2-4 weeks ahead for July and August weekends. Outside summer months, booking a few days in advance is usually sufficient.
