Lindlingalm

Lindlingalm sits at 1,370m in the Zillertal valley south of Mayrhofen. Reach it from Mayrhofen village (5km south) by following the Zillertal hiking trail upstream. The walk takes 1.5 hours. The hut is also accessible from the Floite valley to the east, a longer approach that links into the broader valley network. Summer is the main season; access via higher passes requires good snow conditions in early summer.

The hut runs as a simple mountain inn with a small dormitory and a few double rooms. The kitchen serves filling Austrian fare, primarily dinner and breakfast. Count on hearty soups, meat dishes, and fresh bread. Water and basic supplies are available. This is a working Alpine hut, not a luxury refuge—expect comfortable but functional facilities. The hut operates from May through October, with reliable staffing from June through September.

Phone ahead before arriving, especially in July and August when the Zillertal valleys draw steady summer traffic. Call to confirm availability and arrange meals. The hut is family-friendly and attracts local hikers as well as through-trekkers. It sits well on the valley floor, making it a good base for acclimatization or a rest day within a longer Zillertal traverse.
