Loreahütte
3.7About
The DAV Sektion Isartal operates this 50-bed hut as a simple mountain shelter. Expect dormitory accommodation and communal meals. The hut serves as a base for climbing Vordere Karwendelspitze (2,537m) and Hintere Karwendelspitze (2,540m), both 3–4 hours from the hut. Winter access is unreliable; the hut typically operates May through October. Water comes from mountain sources; power is limited.
Book directly with the hut keeper. Phone ahead to confirm opening dates and meal availability, especially outside peak season. July and August fill quickly—aim to reserve by early June. Shoulder seasons (May, September, October) offer more flexibility and better weather stability for mountaineering objectives.
