Triesdorfer Hut

Triesdorfer Hütte sits at 950m in the Ötztal valley, serving as a base for approaches to the Ötztal peaks and ridge traverses. Reach it from Sölden via the Ötztal Road heading south; the hut lies above the valley floor with direct trail access from multiple starting points. Most hikers approach from Vent (90 minutes) or from the Ötztal settlements via marked paths that gain 300–400m vertical. The location makes it a practical overnight stop before ascending to higher terrain or a simple evening's walk from the valley.
The hut has 50 beds split across several rooms and offers half-board with hearty Tyrolean cooking. Meals are family-style at shared tables—expect to meet other climbers and ridge walkers. The hut operates year-round and provides basic mountain hut facilities: shower, heating, and a small bar. It's managed by the OeAV (Austrian Alpine Club) and caters equally to casual hikers and mountaineers planning bigger objectives in the Ötztal Alps.
Book 4–6 weeks ahead during July and August. Reserve directly with the hut by phone or email. Weekends fill faster than weekdays. The hut accepts cash and card payments. Arrive by late afternoon to secure supper; notification of late arrival is essential. Winter conditions can affect access; confirm current trail status before setting out in November through March.
